  3. Laramie County Library System is the oldest county library system in the United States. It was started in 1886.
  4. Wyoming annually holds more horse- and bronco-related events than any other state in the US.
  5. In 1906, Devil’s Tower in Crook County became the first national monument in the United States. It is also home to the Shoshone Forest, which became the nation’s first National Forest in 1891.
  6. Back when Wyoming was a territory, it became the first state to grant women the right to vote. It was also the first state in the US to elect a female for Governor (Nellie Tayloe Ross) back in 1925 to 1927.
  7. Wyoming is a pro-education state. The state sponsors the Hathaway Scholarship program, which is rewarded to promising graduating high school students. The scholarship covers a significant portion of tuition and fees for students that decide to attend any of the state's community colleges or the University of Wyoming.
  8. Wyoming has 32 islands within its state boundaries.
  9. Wyoming has the smallest population out of all of the 50 states in the US.
